Upper Saucon Police Getting Permanent Drug Drop-Off Box
The Upper Saucon Township Police Department is one of 10 Lehigh County departments getting permanent drug collection boxes.
A group of Lehigh County police departments are about to start offering residents a way to get rid of unwanted and expired over-the-counter and prescription medications.
On Tuesday, county law enforcement officials will announce the installation of permanent medication collection boxes at 10 local police stations.
Lehigh County District Attorney James B. Martin and the PA Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs' (DDAP) Director of the Bureau of Treatment, Prevention and Intervention Ken Martz are set to make the announcement at Upper Macungie Township police headquarters.
The boxes are being paid for by a grant program made possible by the joint efforts of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association, the DDAP and the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
In addition to Upper Saucon, the drop boxes can be found in:
- Allentown (10th and Hamilton streets substation)
- Upper Macungie Township
- Emmaus
- Slatington
- South Whitehall Township
- Catasauqua
- Whitehall Township
- Salisbury Township
- Slatington
