Bethlehem Man, 75, Was Victim in Fatal R.309 Crash with Bus

Web posting says Arthur Metcalfe died when his pickup truck crashed into back of Trans-Bridge bus north of Quakertown.

Authorities have identified a 75-year-old Bethlehem man as the person killed in a crash this morning with a Trans-Bridge bus on Route 309 north of Quakertown.

A Morning Call web posting said Arthur B. Metcalfe was driving a pickup truck that crashed into the back of the bus, which had been stopped for a red light on southbound Route 309 at W. Pumping Station Road in Richland Township.

Metcalfe's pickup hit the back of the bus just as the bus started to go through a traffic light after it turned green, The Call story said.

The crash happened around 5am, according to a posting on LehighValleyLive.
