It's Time to Start Planning Coopersburg's 2014 Community Outreach Benefit

The first 2014 COB planning meeting will be held Jan. 27 (or Jan. 28, in case of inclement weather) at 7 p.m. at St. John's U.C.C., 538 E. Thomas St., Coopersburg.

The Community Outreach Benefit (COB) organization established by St. John's U.C.C. in Coopersburg is a group that has made a name for itself by assisting families facing financial challenges due to extraordinary medical expenses.

Over the past dozen or so years, COB has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for 34 local families in need via a website and an annual summertime block party that is always held on the last Sunday in July.

Due to a deep freeze, July probably seems a long way off right now, but COB members are already focusing on planning this year's event.

The first 2014 planning meeting will be held Jan. 27 (or Jan. 28, in case of inclement weather) at 7 p.m. at St. John's U.C.C., 538 E. Thomas St., Coopersburg.

According to a post recently published on Facebook, newcomers are welcome to attend the meeting and learn more about volunteering as part of COB.

For more information, contact Rev. Rick Guhl at rickguhl@gmail.com or 484-707-5838, or visit the COB website.
