Promenade Shops Invite Kids to Touch a Truck Saturday

It's Kids Day Saturday at the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, and lots of family-friendly activities are planned.

The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley will host Kids Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, with family-friendly activities planned throughout the shopping center.

  •  Touch a Truck. Fire trucks, police cruisers and other emergency vehicles from Upper Saucon will be showcased at the Touch-a-Truck exhibit to be set up on the street between Barnes & Noble and Old Navy.  Kids will be able to get up close to the vehicles and meet emergency responders. 
  • Learn to Keep Safe. Representatives from the Kiwanis Club of Southern Lehigh will have educational safety materials for families.  
  • Lehigh Valley Martial Arts Demonstration. Teachers and students will be on hand to meet and greet youngsters and their parents. A demonstration is planned at noon. 
  • The outdoor Patio Food Court area will feature crafts for kids.  
  • Sweet & Sassy will host a “Sparkle Station” and offer glitter star tattoos. 
  • Color Me Mine will host a “Painting Station” for kids to paint their own medallion magnet ($5 fee).  
  • L.L.Bean will teach kids how to make a macramé survival bracelet.  
  • QNB will host a ring toss game with its mascot from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Patio Food Court area.
  • Inside Apricot Lane. Shoppers can enter to win a pair of Toms for kids and $50 Gift Card to Apricot Lane. 
  • Inside Barnes & Noble, there will be a Book Fair for St. Luke's Reading Rocks program, a bookmark craft activity, coloring station and scavenger hunt. (Mention St. Luke's or Reading Rocks at check-out and Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of sales to the organization.) Barnes & Noble is also collecting new and gently-used books to donate to the program.
  • Inside Capital Blue, there will be a Dance Party for kids including refreshments, crafts and raffle.
  • Inside Dandelion. Free cupcakes and temporary princess tattoos.  
  • Inside Fuzziwig's Candy Factory:  Free scented-pencils for kids (supplies are limited.) Shoppers can try the Candy Guessing Game; winner takes home a $30 Gift Card.
  • Inside LensCrafters: Free eyewear cleaning, adjustments and cleaning wipes (supplies are limited).
  • Inside Pandini’s: Shoppers can enter its coloring contest and raffle for a Crayola Gift Basket.
  • Red Robin: Participate in carnival games to win prizes. Also, there will be freckled lemonade samples and face painting.
