An Accuweather forecaster says we could get buried or dodge a bullet depending on how a winter storm develops next week.
The mid-Atlantic region including the Lehigh Valley is prime territory for a winter storm that could turn into a blizzard —or blow out to sea, according to Accuweather. This potential "atmospheric bomb" is just something to keep an eye on so far. Forecasters say they'll get a better handle on the potential for a major winter storm as the track develops over the weekend. The storm is brewing now in the Pacific and will travel cross country in coming days. The National Weather Service says we can expect to get about an inch of snow tonight - enough snow to affect the Tuesday morning commute. An additional inch or so could accumulate Tuesday, possibly mixing with rain. The forecast says: Tonight: Snow likely after 1 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a low around 28. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Tuesday: Snow before noon, then a chance of rain and snow. High near 36. My husband and I recently traveled to Key West, Grand Cayman Islands, and Jamaca via Carnival Cruise line. I'm missing the crystal clear blue ocean, the white sandy beaches, and the hot hot sun.
