Sands Casino Expansion Wins Approval from Gaming Board

The Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem received approval Tuesday to add 31 new table games, giving it the most table games of any casino in the state, according to a story in The Express-Times. The Sands Casino would expand its gaming floor by 2,600 square feet and move 837 slot machines to make way for the extra table games, according to the story. When the renovations are done, the Sands will have 183 table games. The new games will mean 107 new jobs, a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board spokesman told the newspaper. With that, Northampton Community College has already announced a new information session for its Casino Training Program.
