Windy, dry conditions mean there's an increased risk of wildfires Thursday afternoon and evening.
The Lehigh Valley is at enhanced risk of wildfires through Thursday evening because of windy, dry conditions, according to the National Weather Service. Winds will not be as high as they've been the past few days but low humidity and dry fuel for fires still pose a hazard. Tonight, the Weather Service says there is a slight chance of rain or sleet after 3 a.m. The forecast for Friday is cloudy with a chance of rain and a high in the los 50s.

An Accuweather forecaster says we could get buried or dodge a bullet depending on how a winter storm develops next week.
The mid-Atlantic region including the Lehigh Valley is prime territory for a winter storm that could turn into a blizzard —or blow out to sea, according to Accuweather. This potential "atmospheric bomb" is just something to keep an eye on so far. Forecasters say they'll get a better handle on the potential for a major winter storm as the track develops over the weekend.
