Hearing for Ex-Coopersburg Manager Accused of Fraud Continued

Ex-Coopersburg manager Dawn Kresge was expected to plead guilty to charges including fraud and theft; hearing continued to Jan. 22.

Though ex-Coopersburg manager Dawn Kresge was in court Monday and expected to plead guilty to charges of fraud, theft and receiving stolen property, her attorney asked Judge James Anthony for a continuance.  According to court documents, this is the second time Kresge's attorneys have asked to court for a continuance.   Kresge resigned abruptly as borough manager in February 2012, citing a new job opportunity. The resignation sparked an internal audit. In April, Tim Paashaus, the new borough manager and former mayor, uncovered evidence that Kresge allegedly had improperly used borough credit cards. The audit reportedly found improper charges totaling almost $15,000 during the period from November 2010 to February 2012. Kresge was arrested …

Police: Man Steals from Lutron, Sells Products on eBay

Hugo Victor Ibarra, 37, is accused of stealing electronics from Lutron and selling the products on eBay over the course of several years

A Trexlertown man is accused of stealing electronics worth $9,098 from Lutron and selling them on eBay. Hugo Victor Ibarra is charged with:  for allegedly stealing 36 computerized dimmers known as Grafik Eyes from Lutron. According to the criminal complaint, on Feb. 13, a Lutron security manager reported an ongoing theft at Lutron. The manager was alerted to the sale of a Lutron Grafik Eye on eBay for a lower price than Lutron sells to its distributors. The manager bought the unit, and checked the serial number against company records. The serial number revealed that it was Lutron’s property and not for public purchase.  The manager was able to check that the screen name selling the Grafik Eye Vhi2 belonged to Ibarra, who was working as a …
