Fight at Coopersburg Social Hall Leaves Woman Bloodied

Kevin L. Good, 51, is charged with simple assault and harassment after a fight in the Coopersburg Social Hall.

An Emmaus man is charged with simple assault and harassment in an incident at the Coopersburg Social Hall that left his wife bleeding. Police were dispatched to the Coopersburg Social Hall Jan. 19, a Saturday, at 3:40pm for a "disturbance." According to the criminal complaint, when police arrived they found Good in the parking lot of the hall "intoxicated and agitated about the fight." Inside the social hal, police located Good's wife bleeding from her nose and crying. When asked, the victim said that her husband hit her in the nose. Witnesses at the bar confirmed that Good struck her in the face with his elbow.  Good was released on $5,000 bail. An initial "no contact" order placed on Good was lifted by the district attorney's office.

Police Chief Daniel Trexler announces a run for Magisterial District Judge seat; Judge David Harding retiring this year.

Coopersburg Police Chief Daniel C. Trexler announced his candidacy for Magisterial District Judge in District Court 31-3-03, which serves Upper Saucon Township, Lower Milford Township and Coopersburg. District Judge David B. In the popular children's book "Make Way for the Ducklings," a family of ducks makes its way from its home by a river to the public garden with the help of some friendly policemen.  Well, the fictional story of Mrs. Mallard, Jack, Kack, Lack, Mack, Nack, Ouack, Pack and Quack (the ducklings in the story) has nothing on the Coopersburg police and the Coopersburg public works department.  Just like in the story, a family of seven ducklings tried to cross Main Street at Fairmount following their mother.  Unlike the ducks in the story, the "Coopersburg Seven" were too small to make it over a sewer grate. Mother Charged with Trying to Kill 6-Month-Old Son

A 19-year-old Lower Milford woman has been charged with attempted homicide after an investigation into injuries to her 6-month-old son, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney.

Chelsie Grant, 19, of 6750 Lamour St., Lower Milford, was charged today with one count of attempted murder against her 6-month-old son, according to a press release from the Lehigh County District Attorney's office. "Grant is charged with 'intentionally, knowingly or recklessly' attempting to cause the death of her son, according to the release. Police allege that Grant caused "multiple fractures to the baby’s arms and legs, caused bleeding by putting her fingers down the baby’s throat and choked the child until he was unconscious." Grant brought her son to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest on Jan. 12, claiming the boy had been abused by his father. I would say elizabeth bleeding out of the mouth would be a sign of abuse, generally uncontrollable bleeding out of the mouth occurs with either internal injuries or a jaw fracture, and a 6 month old is no where near old enough to be in activities to cause a jaw fracture. But then again she lied and said the father abused the child so that is probably why she still had the child.   more ›

Coopersburg Man Accused of Beating Brother

Justin M. Bellis was charged with simple assault for allegedly hitting and kicking his brother, Coopersburg police say.

A Coopersburg man allegedly hit and kicked his brother several times after their mother demanded he leave the house. About 9 p.m. Oct. 31, borough police were dispatched to 209 Main St. on a report of a disturbance, according to a police affidavit. They were met by Patricia Cullen, who said her son, Justin M. Bellis, 30, of the rear apartment of 209 Main St., had come to the house intoxicated to discuss moving back home.  She reportedly demanded that he leave and he began beating his brother, Craig Bellis, police said. Officers saw that Craig Bellis' glasses were broken and he had cuts and scratches.
