Coopersburg Gas Station Gunman Blamed for 6 More Robberies

A man who police say robbed stores and fled by bicycle is being charged with more crimes in both Lehigh and Northampton counties.

The "Bicycling Bandit" -- who allegedly wore a pig mask in one case and fled by bicycle after hitting convenience stores -- is being charged with six more robberies beyond the original six announced in December. Crimes in Bethlehem, Easton and Coopersburg have been added to charges against Steven Felton, 31, of 617 1/2 Walnut St., Emmaus. The new charges include crimes at three mini-marts and two cigarette stores, according to a Lehigh Valley Live report. Police from Emmaus, Allentown and Whitehall, along with members of the Lehigh County Drug Task Force, arrested Felton at his Emmaus address last month. Coopersburg Gas Station Robbed at Gunpoint

A man dressed in black was seen leaving a Coopersburg gas station and walking on Fairmount and Main streets.

The US Gas station at 360 N. Third St. (Route 309) in Coopersburg was robbed at gunpoint Friday afternoon, Coopersburg Police Chief Daniel Trexler said. A black man, dressed in black, showed a gun and ordered a clerk to give him money from the cash register, the chief said. Authorities are still determining how much money was taken. The robbery occurred at 2:51 p.m. Police released a video frame of the suspect. The robber fled on foot. Anyone with information can call Coopersburg police at 610-282-1444.
