Naked Attack May Have Been Fueled by Bath Salts
A Doylestown-area man might have been under the influence of a new type of synthetic drug when he allegedly rampaged through a small town in northern Pennsylvania.
A Doylestown-area man who stripped naked, jumped out a window, tackled a woman and gnawed on her head might have been under the influence of a new type of synthetic drug, a local drug educator said Thursday. Richard Cimino Jr., 20, faces multiple charges in connection with the Sept. 7 attack in the northern Pennsylvania town of Hawley. Known as Ricky, Cimino lived in Buckingham Township, graduating from Central Bucks High School East in 2010. The alleged details of the bizarre attack bear all the hallmarks of use of drugs known on the street as "bath salts," said David Fialko, a drug educator with a Doylestown-based agency. With all respect to the knowledge and experience of the David Falko, it is inappropriate to speculate about what may have caused this incident. While there is much evidence of the dangers of "bath salts," there is much hysteria, too.
