Retail Therapy Bingo, Intermediate School Concert, Newtown Vigil

Highlights of the weekend will include the Southern Lehigh intermediate school's instrumental concert, "Retail Therapy Bingo" and a vigil in remembrance of the victims of the Newtown massacre.

Thursday, Dec. 12

7 p.m., Intermediate School Instrumental Concert, Joseph P. Liberati Intermediate School auditorium, Center Valley

Friday, Dec. 13

6:30 p.m., Celebrate Recovery, Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, 5900 Old Bethlehem Pike, Center Valley. Celebrate Recovery is a ministry designed to help hurting people. Trained leaders provide safe, confidential, Christ-centered groups where people can grow. Free.

Saturday, Dec. 14

5 p.m., Remembering Newtown: A Candlelight Vigil, Bethlehem City Hall Plaza, 10 E. Church St., Bethlehem. A candlelight vigil in remembrance of the 20 children and six teachers killed last year at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., will be held. Everyone concerned about the toll gun violence has taken on American society is welcome to attend. Unwrapped toys and new winter coats for children under 12 will be collected for local families in need. Remembering Newtown: A Candlelight Vigil is hosted by the Lehigh Valley Chapter of Organizing for Action.

Sunday, Dec. 15

1:30 p.m. (doors open at 12:30 p.m.), Retail Therapy Bingo, Lower Saucon UCC/Red Door Early Learning Center, 1375 Third Ave., Hellertown. Games begin at 1:30 p.m. Games 1 through 15 have $25 gift cards as prizes and games 16 through 20 have $50 cards. 4 p.m., Arts Academy Charter School Figure Skaters Perform, Steel Ice Center, 320 E. First St., Bethlehem. The Arts Academy Charter School figure skaters will perform a group ensemble during the Penguin Figure Skating Club exhibition. The Arts Academy is a tuition-free arts and academic middle school located in Salisbury Township with 380 students form 21 school districts. Arts programs include dance, visual arts, theater, figure skating, and visual and instrumental music. Visit www.arts-cs.org for more information. Free.
