Lower Milford Fall Festival, Cookbook Signing

There's a lot going on in the Southern Lehigh area this weekend.

What's happening in the Southern Lehigh area this weekend?

On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the annual Lower Milford Township Fall Festival will be held in the township park, 7607 Chestnut Hill Church Road, Coopersburg.

The festival will feature lots of family fun, including crafts, live music, a silent auction, food, a book sale, a photo contest, a children's coloring contest, free carriage rides, kiddie pedal tractor races with prizes, and much more.

Also on Saturday, at 1 p.m. there will be a book signing with Nadia Hassani, the author of "Spoonfuls of Germany: German Regional Cuisine," at Barnes & Noble, The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, 2960 Center Valley Parkway, Center Valley.

Here are some other events taking place in or near the Southern Lehigh area this weekend:

Friday, Sept. 27

6 p.m. to midnight, Halloween Haunt, Dorney Park, 4000 Dorney Park Road, Allentown, featuring mazes, scary creatures and thrill rides. (Not for anyone under 13.) The park is also open 11 a.m. to midnight, Saturday. Tickets begin at $30.99.

8 to 10 p.m., entertainment by Breeze; 10 p.m. to close, DJ Mikey G., Revolutions at Saucon Valley, 3717 Rt. 378, Bethlehem

Saturday, Sept. 28

9 a.m. (registration at 8 a.m.), the Hellertown Area Library will continue its 20th anniversary celebration with the running of the second annual "Get Bookin'" 5K race. A Family Fun Day will also be held at the library, 409 Constitution Ave., Hellertown, from noon to 3 p.m. Fun Day activities will include a Crayola craft table, a family yoga session with YogaMos starting at noon, music provided by Gr8soundz and food. There will also be raffles with prizes. An event page for Family Fun Day has been set up on Facebook.

Sunday, Sept. 29

9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saucon Valley Farmers' Market, Water Street Park, Hellertown. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the market will host a "Bring Your Doll to the Market Day" featuring stories told by Mother Goose, free refreshments, free gifts, a "Buy Fresh Buy Local" specialty crop game, crafts with Miss Maureen, the puppets of the Lower Saucon Township Historical Society and music by Lehigh Valley Drummers.
