Paint With Santa, Winter Concert, Remembering Newtown: This Week in So. Lehigh

Here's a look at some of the events planned in the Southern Lehigh area this week.

Monday, Dec. 9

6 to 8 p.m., Paint With Santa at Color Me Mine, Color Me Mine, The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, 3060 Center Valley Parkway, Center Valley. Kids will have a magical evening with Santa Claus in the studio. Santa will read the children 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, they will enjoy holiday treats and hot chocolate, have a chance to meet Santa and snap a photo (bring your cameras), and paint a Cookie Plate to serve cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve! Price: $35 first child, 10 percent off each additional sibling. *Please note that reservations are required for this event, and that the studio will be closed to outside traffic at this time. Call 610-791-2228 to register.

7:30 p.m., Lower Milford Township Historical Commission meeting, township building, 7607 Chestnut Hill Church Road, Coopersburg

Thursday, Dec. 12

7 p.m., Intermediate School Instrumental Concert, Joseph P. Liberati Intermediate School auditorium

Saturday, Dec. 14

5 p.m., Remembering Newtown: A Candlelight Vigil, Bethlehem City Hall Plaza, 10 E. Church St., Bethlehem. A candlelight vigil in remembrance of the 20 children and six teachers killed last year at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., will be held. Everyone concerned about the toll gun violence has taken on American society is welcome to attend. Unwrapped toys and new winter coats for children under 12 will be collected for local families in need. Remembering Newtown: A Candlelight Vigil is hosted by the Lehigh Valley Chapter of Organizing for Action.
