Southern Lehigh Grad Named to All-Centennial Conference Team

Alita Zabrecky, senior co-captain of the Muhlenberg College women's basketball team, has been named to the All-Centennial Conference first team.

Southern Lehigh graduate Alita Zabrecky, senior co-captain of the Muhlenberg College women’s basketball team, was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team, according to a press release by Muhlenberg College. This is the third time that Zabrecky has been noticed by the All-Centennial Conference – she earned honorable mention as a sophomore and was named to the second team as a junior.

Zabrecky started in 25 of Muhlenberg's 26 games this season, according to the Muhlenberg press release.

Highlights of her season include:

  • Led the team in points per game (14.5), rebounds per game (7.4) and steals (58).
  • Earned five double-doubles, including 19 points and 10 rebounds in a 49-43 victory at Johns Hopkins and 13 points and 14 rebounds in the Mules’ 61-49 victory over eventual CC champion Gettysburg.
  • Scored her 1,000th career point in a 93-41 game against Misericordia and finished her career as Muhlenberg’s sixth all-time leading scorer with 1,234 points.
  • Ranks in the top 10 in Muhlenberg history in field goals (fifth with 450), three-pointers (seventh with 86), free throws (eighth with 247), rebounds (eighth with 655), assists (ninth with 221) and steals (seventh with 191).

In February Zabrecky was named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball team of the year, the release says.
