Coopersburg Gymnast Named Alternate to Women's Worlds Team

Elizabeth "Ebee" Price, 17, has been named an alternate to the U.S. women's gymnastics team that will compete at the 2013 World Championships later this month.

Coopersburg gymnast Elizabeth "Ebee" Price, 17, has been named an alternate to the U.S. women's team that will compete at the 2013 World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, beginning Sept. 30, according to a news release shared on the Parkettes National Gymnastics Facebook page Monday.

Price, who trains at the Parkettes gymnastics center in Allentown, lost an advantage she had for a berth on the team when she suffered hip injuries earlier this year, according to an article published by the Morning Call.

Price received a "hero's welcome" home to the Southern Lehigh area last summer, after she competed in Olympic trials.

More information about the team that will be competing in Belgium is posted on the USA Gymnastics website.
