Solehi High School Open for Showers and Recharging Sunday

Souther Lehigh residents still without power can warm up, take a shower and charge their phones at the high school Sunday.

Southern Lehigh High School will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4 for any resident without power for showers or to recharge phones, etc.

Anyone wanting to take advantage of this is asked to bring their own towels and toiletries.

Please go to the door closest to the flag pole in front of the high school and ring the bell to be let in.

The school district asks residents to share this information with neighbors who may be in need, but who may not have communications available or children enrolled in Solehi schools.

PPL Electric Utilities says it is pouring more manpower into eastern Pennsylvania for a final push this weekend to repair the devastation left by Hurricane Sandy.

Approximately 600 additional line workers, now finished working in other areas of the PPL Electric Utilities service territory, arrived Friday and Saturday to supplement the existing army of repair crews. The additional crews bring the total work force in the eastern part of the state to 2,500.

PPL's goal is to restore all power by 11 p.m. Sunday, although the utility company says there may still be some pockets of outages because of the storm's widespread impact.
