Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J., has named Katianne Janney of Coopersburg a 2013 Andrew J. Rider Scholar, according to a news release.
This is the first year Janney has received the award, which is the highest undergraduate achievement offered to students at the school, the release said.
Individuals selected as Andrew J. Rider scholars are the top one percent of seniors, juniors and sophomores in Rider's six academic colleges, and are determined by grade point average.
The six colleges include the College of Business Administration, the School of Education, the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Continuing Studies, Westminster Choir College and the School of Fine and Performing Arts.
