Two Southern Lehigh School Board members who've each served a dozen years on the board were recognized for their commitment to education in the Southern Lehigh School District at a recent board meeting.

Dr. Elizabeth Stelts and William Hayes were thanked for their service by superintendent Leah Christman, who pointed out that the length of their service qualified them for induction into the Pennsylvania School Board Association's Honor Roll of School Board Service.

She noted that both Hayes and Stelts have devoted many extra hours of service to work on various board committees.

Stelts, for example, heads the board's facilities committee.

"We certainly appreciate your counsel and the wisdom and the hard work," board president Jeffrey Dimmig said. "Both of you go the extra mile."

Also recognized at the meeting was Jason Lilly, who was recently hired as assistant principal at Southern Lehigh High School.

Lilly was most recently a K-12 mathematics supervisor in the Wilson School District, according to his LinkedIn profile.
