Man Faces Charges in Attempted Gun Buy

A Coopersburg area man is accused of giving false information when he attempted to purchase a rifle, state police say.

Einar B. Rorvik, 54, of Richlandtown Pike in the Coopersburg area, was arrested Nov. 23 for allegedly failing to give accurate information on federal forms he filled out to purhcase a rifle, state police said.

State Police at Skippack said they began the investigation in August into a Pennsylvania Instant Check System violation that reportedly occurred at Clayton's Hunting and Fishing in Horsham Township, Montgomery County.

Troopers were able to confirm that Rorvik tried to buy a rifle there and was turned down. They found that Rorvik filled out the required forms from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, known as the ATF, but allegedly failed to disclose a prior health condition.
