L. Milford Reminds Residents: Don't Shovel Snow in Road

Lower Milford Township used Facebook Sunday to remind property owners that snow should not be shoveled into public roadways.

Lower Milford Township used Facebook Sunday to issue a timely reminder about snow removal.

Specifically, the township reminded property owners that snow should not be shoveled into public roadways.

"No snow is to be shoveled or pushed into the road," a post by the township stated. "It is a safety hazard and is against the law."

Residents are also being encouraged to pile snow along the side of the road "down-road" from their driveways or mailboxes.

"This way when the plow goes past, it will push the snow along the side away from your mailbox and not plow that snow back across your driveway. It then has less chance to knock your mailbox over as well," the post explained.

Several inches of snow fell in parts of the area late Sunday, and more snow is forecast to fall on Tuesday according to the National Weather Service.
