Coopersburg Plans to Hire Part-Time Officers

Mayor Jonathan Mack updated Borough Council on police matters at a recent meeting.

Coopersburg Mayor Jonathan Mack announced at a recent borough council meeting that the borough's police department will need to hire a couple of new part-time officers, to replace current police officers who are leaving for full-time jobs.

Mack also told council that there hadn't been any progress on a planned search for a new police chief.

The current police chief, Daniel Trexler, is the presumptive next district judge for the Southern Lehigh area, after his victories in both the Democratic and Republican primary elections held in May.

The current district judge, David Harding, is retiring at the end of the year.
