Warning About Recent Burglaries Issued

Recent burglaries on Wildberry Lane, Arden Lane and Saucon Valley Road in Lower Saucon Township prompted the issuance of a warning from township officials.

Lower Saucon Township issued a warning late Wednesday about a recent rash of burglaries in the western part of the township, near the Upper Saucon Township border.

All of the recent burglaries on Saucon Valley Road, Wildberry Road and Arden Lane "are believed to have...occurred overnight at unoccupied residences," the notice said.

In the Arden Lane break-in, township police said a hole was cut in a second floor wall.

In the Wildberry Lane burglary, which occurred in mid-July, police reported that several pieces of jewelry were stolen.

The township statement didn't indicate whether or not police believe the burglaries are related, but encouraged residents to "be sure to take necessary precautions of securing and alarming...residences when not home."

Residents are also asked to report any suspicious activity by dialing 911, calling the Northampton County Dispatch Center's non-emergency number at (610) 759-2200, or calling their local law enforcement authority.

Area residents can register to receive news alerts from Lower Saucon Township on the township website.
