Speed Blamed in Teen's Crash

Lower Saucon Township Police say a 16-year-old boy crashed his car because he was driving too fast to control it.

Lower Saucon Township Police say speeding preceded a crash in which a 16-year-old boy's vehicle ended up stuck in brush.

In a news release, police said the accident happened in the 1900 block of Reading Drive at about 12:30 p.m. Sept. 2.

The boy "was driving too fast to control his vehicle...lost control, crossed the double yellow line, and crashed into brush on the opposite side of the street," police said.

The boy's father used a truck to pull his son's car out of the brush, police added.

They said the teen will be cited for an alleged violation of the vehicle code, "Driving on right side of roadway."
