Police: No Reports of Child Luring in Upper Saucon

Upper Saucon Township Police Chief Robert Coyle said his department has not received any reports of attempted child luring in the township, in spite of text messages warning parents about a suspicious man in a green van.

Although text messages have been received by local parents regarding a man in a green van attempting to lure children in Upper Saucon Township, Police Chief Robert Coyle said Tuesday afternoon that the department has not received any reports of attempted child luring.

"We have not received any calls whatsoever," Coyle said.

If someone's child were targeted, "you would think they would [report it]," he added.

The Upper Saucon Township Police Department is aware of the text messages that are circulating and is investigating them, Coyle said.

"We're still trying to sort it out," he added.

The chief encouraged anyone who witnesses something suspicious to report it immediately to local police.

The non-emergency phone number for the Upper Saucon Township Police Department is (610) 282-3064. In an emergency, dial 911.
