Local Police Revisit Scene of Murder, Talk to Motorists

Salisbury Township police officers conducted a checkpoint Thursday morning on Chestnut Hill Road in an effort to glean more information about the identity of a woman who was suffocated and burned there last week and who may have killed her.

Beginning at 9 a.m., Salisbury police stopped and spoke to motorists on the remote road in a wooded residential section on South Mountain near the Unami Fish and Game Association. Police discovered the woman's burning body after a passing motorist reported something was on fire around 9:30 a.m. Dec. 27 on Chestnut Hill Road.

Police discussed information they had previously released to the media, such as a description of the woman and distinguishing characteristics.

Police continue to request any information from the public that might help them in the investigation, "no matter how insignificant it might seem," they said.
