L. Milford Fire Co. to Install New Generator

The Lower Milford Township Fire Co. plans to install a generator that will enable it to better serve local residents in the case of a prolonged power outage.

It's been about 9 months since the remnants of Hurricane Sandy caused widespread power outages and damage throughout the Southern Lehigh area.

As a result of that storm, one local fire company has implemented a plan that will better prepare it for the next one, according to information published in the Lower Milford Township Spring/Summer 2013 newsletter.

"The Lower Milford Fire Company is finalizing plans for a generator system to be installed," the township reported in the newsletter. "During times of power outages, the generator will enable the fire company to operate uninterrupted, keeping vital equipment charged and ready for an emergency."

Lower Milford supervisor Mike Snovitch reviewed the proposal that was submitted to the fire company and analyzed the generator's specifications in relationship to the company’s needs, the township newsletter said.
