Ex-DeSales Employee to Be Re-sentenced on Spying Conviction

John Bednarik II of Blandon, Berks County, must be re-sentenced on his 2012 invasion of privacy conviction, a state Superior Court panel recently ruled.

A state Superior Court panel ruled last week that DeSales University's former director of campus environment must be re-sentenced on invasion of privacy charges to which he pleaded guilty last year, the Express-Times reported.

John Bednarik II, of Blandon, Berks County, was convicted after he admitted to filming a coworker breastfeeding and was sentenced in September 2012 to serve nine to 21 months in county prison—a sentence he appealed, according to the newspaper article.

Bednarik drilled a hole in a ceiling tile above the woman's office in order to clandestinely observe her breastfeeding for the purpose of sexual gratification, according to a criminal complaint that was filed when he was charged in June 2012.
