Police and the Northampton County Coroner's office are investigating a fetus found in a toilet tank at Starters Pub on Route 378 in Lower Saucon Township Monday morning, according to reports.

According to WFMZ Channel 69's noontime broadcast, the discovery occurred when a member of a restaurant cleaning crew was unable to flush a toilet Monday morning and opened the tank to discover a fetus inside.

The Express-Times initially reported that an emergency radio call Monday morning was for a baby found in a bag.

The newspaper also reported that Starters Pub would not open at its usual 11 a.m. opening time.

Outside the restaurant, a Lower Saucon Township police officer could be seen taking photographs of a Dumpster in the parking lot, behind the building.

Lower Saucon Township Police Chief Guy Lesser was also at the scene, as were media representatives from various Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia news outlets.

Starters Pub is a freestanding restaurant located in the parking lot of the Saucon Square shopping center, which is home to numerous other local businesses.
