Sandra A. Hawkey, 68, of Coopersburg [Obituary]

Sandra A. Hawkey, 68, of Coopersburg, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013  in Lewes, Del. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Hawkey, who passed away on Oct. 2, 2000. She was born in Bethlehem on Aug. 16, 1944 to the late Anthony and Martha (Lawton) Huyter. Sandra worked in sheet sales for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 35 years, retiring in 1997. She was a devoted member of the Order of Eastern Star, serving as a past matron and member of Calypso Chapter #163, as well as past deputy grand matron of district 12B. She loved the beach and especially enjoyed crocheting, knitting and was an avid reader.

SURVIVORS

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Robert D. II and Shawn P. and his fiancée Corri, both of Coopersburg; sisters: Helen and her husband Richard Daniels of Bethlehem, Patsy and her husband Martin Comer of Bethlehem Township, Millicent and her husband Robert Ferraira of Steel City and Shirley Licsko of West Melbourne, Fla.; grandchildren: Jared Hawkey of Lehighton and Gavin Moll of Coopersburg. Sandra was predeceased by siblings: Rosie Derr, Corky Tedesco and Jean Williams.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The Order of Eastern Star service will be held at 8 p.m. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
