James 'Jim' Joseph Reilly, 73, of Center Valley [Obituary]

James 'Jim' Joseph Reilly died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013.

James 'Jim' Joseph Reilly, 73, of Center Valley, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013. He was the husband of Rita P. (McGuire) Reilly. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Dec. 22, 1939 to the late Ellen (Murray) and Charles Reilly. He was a vice president at the New York Life Insurance Co. before transitioning, in retirement, to the U.S. Postal Service. He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Coopersburg, and previously of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Ridgewood, N.J. Jim was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, a volunteer EMT and an active volunteer in numerous sports associations. Each year, he marched proudly in the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife of 48 years; children: Charles J. (Sally) of Hawthorne, N.J., Rosemary G. Reilly (Paul-Jon McNealy) of Natick, Mass., Michael J. (Neema Modi) of Haledon, N.J., James P. (Amy) of Mountain View, Calif., Jeanne M. Reilly (Jason T. Stern) of Hellertown; siblings: Thomas (Bernadette) of Berkeley Heights, N.J., Charles (Barbara) of Ridgewood, N.J., Matthew of Midland Park, N.J., Agnes Anselmo (Nicholas) of Holliston, Mass.; 12 grandchildren: Paul, Brian, Rebecca, Adam, Jack, Emma, Andrew, Keira, Cassidy, Thomas, Ellen and Fiona; and many nieces and nephews.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The service will be at 10:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 5050 Saint Josephs Road, Coopersburg, PA 18036.
