When is Coopersburg Fire Company's Tree-Lighting?
It's almost time to celebrate the start of another holiday season in downtown Coopersburg.
Coopersburg Fire Company's annual Tree-Lighting, which is the unofficial kickoff to the holiday season in the Southern Lehigh area, will be held Saturday, Dec. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the fire company station at State and Main streets in the borough's downtown.
As always, this year's tree-lighting will feature fun activities for the whole family, according to information posted on the Coopersburg borough Facebook page.
Events will include horse-drawn carriage rides ($15 per rider; RSVP ahead of time by calling 610-282-4376), Coopersburg Historical Society museum and CASME model train layout visits inside Borough Hall (5:30 to 8 p.m.), photos with Santa at the fire station (5:30 to 8 p.m.), ice sculpting (5:30 to 7:30 p.m.), the music of the Fireside Fiddlers (6:15 to 6:45 p.m.) and a performance by the Southern Lehigh Intermediate School Chorus (7:45 to 8 p.m.).
Attendees will also enjoy hot cocoa, hot dogs, chili and desserts (proceeds from the sale of these items will benefit the fire company).
