TOPIC = Thanks for “ spirited “ posts on Beyer – Simmons race !

I waited to post next so there could be the opportunity for many more posts by others.

Thanks also for keeping it  “ civil. “   For those that do not, it only ”  weakens “  their position.

“ Agreeing to disagree,  “  “ we can all walk down the same path without seeing eye to eye” and  “ if we all live in the same voting district, we  may live on different sides of the fences on issues. “ – phrases from previous elections.

Of course, ultimately  it will all be decided in the November election, since even if Beyer is not on the ballot, there are always “ write-in votes. “

But it is important that you are “ properly and fully informed “ so you can vote intelligently.  That requires a great deal of work naturally.

You have to “ convince yourself, “ since it is difficult for others to.

Many have died and suffered greatly so you have that “ right, “  as you well know.

But some do not want to be and some cannot be for many reasons.  Some just want to  “ believe what they want to believe. “   It is a free country to do that, but many countries are not free of course.

But many appear not to be  “ properly and fully informed “ from many of the posts for whatever reason.

That just creates a “ lot of confusion, “  but so typical today of some of the media and their  “ 10 – 15 second sound bites, “ that sound so good, but mean little,  to try to explain complex serious issues for many reasons.

Therefore as a start,  if you are interested in being " properly and fully     informed ,“  I suggest the following.  It would also be useful if you want to further  continue  intelligent, productive  & civil discussions,  so that we are all “ on the same page “  - comparing verified and reliable published  information and not just “ hearsay, wishful thinking, venting, rambling, ranting, what some of the media push for various reasons, hasty knee jerk reactions, etc.

1]        A]        Go to the “  LMT and LMRA websites and Facebook pages “  for more specific verified information on the many serious and complex issues involved.

B]        The “ legality “ of closing the LM school and building a very flawed 20 + million dollar new school + not allowing the LMT Supervisors to give their report on how flawed it is.

C]        Then the quarry issue – they have to obey the law like everyone else.

D]        Then the many other very serious & complex issues.

E]        I do believe no one posted on these very serious & complex issues with respect to this election.  So it clearly shows many who posted  are not properly & fully informed.

2]         You should also consult the posted “ 14 page decision by the PA Commonwealth Court “  on the Beyer application – “ he did nothing  wrong ! “

3]         A]        “ My information “  is well posted for a long time.  Check it out.  “

B]        But what about yours ?  “ Do you live in LMT and for how long ?, how are you registered as a voter & do you vote regularly, etc.

C]        The better we know each other the better we can communicate as you so well know.

4]         A]        “ Changing party affiliation “  is a well  known and used option for many reasons, especially if your present party is not doing what you feel is in your best interests.

B]        Check out why Republican Mike Snovitch ran for LMT Supervisor this passed election as a Democrat and won handily.  Of course the famous Winston Churchill of England and many others worldwide.

5]         A]        Our representatives deal with “ making new laws “  in the best interests for those who elected them,  so many have “  law degrees and / or training “  in that area.

B]        Beyer has a law degree, “ but Simmons bio “ does not indicate “  he has or even has taken any courses and / or training in law, still even after two [2] terms in office and running for a third term.  Did he say he would only run for two [2] terms ?

6]         When Simmons as a new graduate first ran, his background was almost the  “ mirror image “ of Beyer, also  a new graduate running for the first time.

7]         Much of what I have posted has “ not “  been adequately answered and documented with posts.  You may want to go back to these posts and do so.

8]         A]        The last election for Simmons was “ very close “ even after a recount – about only 500 votes I believe.  So it is understandable why he would be so concerned about the next election.

B]        But is Simmons “ very questionable behavior “ with respect to the Beyer challenge proper, acceptable, appropriate, etc. ? Is that the representative you want to serve your best interests.

C]        If he is acting this way in this situation,  is he also acting like that in many other areas we do not know about ?

9]         A]        I cannot find the “ official results “ of the Primary Election,  only the votes for Simmons and not the “ write-in votes “  for Beyer.

B]        Are these write-in votes being “ contested “ by Simmons and / or others ?

C]        “ Unofficial  write-in votes “ showed he had about 500, but only needed 300 to be on the ballot in November.

10]       In the meantime, if Simmons  can promptly and properly clear-up these issues  “ in writing of course, with documentation, “ perhaps more will vote for him and not Beyer.

11]       I can continue of course, but it may be best to wait for any further           “ proper posts “ you may want to make.  If not, that is fine also – it is your decision for whatever reason.  Otherwise the November election will decide it.  Whoever wins of course will be “ under a lot of pressure “  for many reasons.

Enjoy ! Cheers !

As many may know, this is all part of my decades of science, technology and society [STS] research, some even sponsored by the National Science Foundation [NSF] – the “ patterns “ and “ best practices “ to deal with such complex issues.  It worked well in the reelection of Mike for LMT Supervisor in the last election.  Lot more on my new website if you are interested.
