Brunch & Discussion: The Impact of Media on Girls & Women (and Boys and Men)

Kids are exposed to, on average, 10 hours of media a day. Do you like what they are seeing or are you troubled by it? Either way join Keneseth Israel Sisterhood and Brotherhood for brunch and a lively discussion about the influence the media has on all of us, particularly girls and women. We'll evaluate the messages the media sends, what we think about those messages and what we can do about it. We'll consider different kinds of media and how media communicates and teaches ideas with an emphasis on gender issues. Leave the discussion as a more media savvy consumer, learn steps you can take and get a list of resources you can use. There is no cost to attend but donations to offset the cost of brunch are appreciated.
