Giant Food Stores also announced the opening of a Peapod by Giant fulfillment center in Coopersburg that will serve customers in the Southern Lehigh area and Bucks County.

"Peapod by GIANT has seen exciting growth in the Philadelphia area and we are delighted to partner with our sister grocer, Peapod, to expand service to additional zip codes in the GIANT trade area,” Giant president Rick Herring said in a news release. “As always, we will strive to provide a wide selection of well-priced, top quality, fresh products with the ease of online shopping and home delivery."

In addition to Coopersburg, residents of towns such as Doylestown and Quakertown will be able to visit www.peapod.com to shop for fresh fruits and vegetable, seafood, meat and dairy as well as nonperishable grocery products, the release indicated.

"Groceries can be delivered as soon as the next day after the order is placed," it added.

Peapod’s state-of-the-art order-fulfillment technology and transportation routing system help achieve accuracy and efficiency in picking, packing and delivering grocery orders, the news release said.
