Future of Hopewell, L. Milford Elem. Schools to Be Discussed

Options for repairing Hopewell and Lower Milford elementary schools in the Southern Lehigh School District will be the subject of a special presentation Aug. 28.

At their most recent meeting, Southern Lehigh School Board members urged district residents with children enrolled in Hopewell and Lower Milford elementary schools to attend an Aug. 28 presentation about the future needs of the two schools.

Both schools are in need of costly repairs, with repairs to Hopewell estimated at as much as $12 million, it was announced earlier this year.

"We value community input," said Dr. Elizabeth Stelts, who is chairwoman of the school board's facilities committee.

Options for repairing the schools are expected to be discussed at the Aug. 28 meeting, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Southern Lehigh High School auditorium.

The presentation that will be made is now posted on the school district's website.
