Center Valley Company Wins Regional Emmy

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Mid-Atlantic Chapter recently presented a regional Emmy Award for My Friend Ryan in the Children/Youth/Teen Program or Special category to eMediaWorks of Center Valley.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Mid-Atlantic Chapter recently presented a regional Emmy Award for My Friend Ryan in the Children/Youth/Teen Program or Special category to eMediaWorks of Center Valley, according to a news release.
"My Friend Ryan is a program for teachers and students created to raise awareness about Aspberger's Syndrome," the release said. "Middle school student Ryan McGibbon offers insight and advice to help prevent bullying in schools."

The Emmy was presented at an awards ceremony in Philadelphia on Saturday, Sept. 7 to Teri Haddad, Ed.D (Producer), Scott Paul, Ph.D (Director) and Brandon Pousley (Editor).

Haddad and Pousley accepted the award.

"eMediaWorks is an educational media partnership specializing in the creation of meaningful programs, original music, animation and curriculum content for the classroom and a better world," according to the press release.

The company was also nominated for STOP, DROP, ROLL, a program sponsored by the Burn Prevention Network that demonstrates what kids should do if their clothes catch on fire, and Harrisburg Case Study, a program sponsored by the PA Autism Initiative that follows the progress of teachers and students in the Harrisburg Area School District over the course of one school year.
