It's still a couple of days away, but this weekend holds the possibility of more snow for the Southern Lehigh area, according to the latest National Weather Service forecasts.

Late Tuesday, the weather forecasters at the Eastern PA Weather Authority noted on their site's Facebook page that "[weather] models are converging towards a solution that would favor a good front end snow with this next [weekend] system."

It was just a couple of days ago that Southern Lehigh residents awoke to the first significant snow of the season.

Several inches of snow fell on Upper Saucon Township and nearby areas, prompting the cancellation of school and numerous meetings and events throughout the area on Tuesday.

The forecast for Saturday includes an 80 percent chance of snow, with highs predicted to be in the low 30s.

Saturday night there could be snow, freezing rain and sleet, and Sunday there could be additional wintry precipitation in the morning, according to the forecast.

Meanwhile, temperatures are unseasonably cold for this time of year, with highs not even cresting the freezing mark.

Thursday morning's low temperature was forecast to be in the mid teens, which is about 10 degrees colder than the average for this time of year.
