Jon Huntsman Jr., co-chair of the bipartisan group No Labels and a former presidential candidate, U.S. Ambassador to China (2009-2011) and Governor of Utah (2005-2009), will deliver the lecture at 7:30 p.m. in Billera Hall.
The topic of Huntsman’s speech will be "Challenges Facing America Today."
Immediately following the lecture, there will be an audience question-and-answer session.

Established in 1983, the Furphy Lecture Series is named in memory of Fr. Thomas J. Furphy, O.S.F.S. (1912-1982).
The theme of the series is “National and International Problems.”
Past speakers have included Jeanne Kirkpatrick, Lee Iacocca, Antonin Scalia, George F. Will, Vladmir Posner, William J. Bennett, Shimon Peres, Zbiniew Brzezinski, George Mitchell, Louis Freeh, Benazir Bhutto, William S. Cohen, Richard Armitage, John Ashcroft, Trent Lott, Tom Ridge and J.C. Watts.
