The final leg of the Saucon Rail Trail's Phase II extension in Upper Saucon Township opened Thursday. Trail users can now walk or bike all the way from Hellertown to Southern Lehigh Living Memorial Park in Coopersburg.

Upper Saucon Township announced Thursday that the Phase II extension of the Saucon Rail Trail in the township is now open to the Coopersburg borough line at Southern Lehigh Living Memorial Park.

The northernmost leg of the Phase II extension, to Passer Road, opened last month.

"Trail users may now use the entire 8-mile trail from Hellertown Borough to Coopersburg Borough," the township said in a news release.

This is such a great way for people to get around without using their cars. If you have a bike with a basket, it's like riding the boardwalk, without the ocean, LOL! Great for kids to get to ball games and to partime jobs!
