Coopersburg 5K Run Set for Saturday

Mark your calendars for Saturday!

That's when one of the biggest events of the year will take place in Coopersburg.

The 7th Annual Coopersburg 5K Run & Kids' Fun Run, along with a Health & Wellness Expo, will be held in the borough's downtown.

According to Coopersburg.org, the event raises funds for the Coopersburg Borough Revitalization Program, the Wescoe Community Fund and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Pottsville Regional Office, which serves the Lehigh Valley area.

The lineup time for the 5K race is 8 a.m., with an official start time of 8:10 a.m. planned.

The start/finish line will be near the intersection of E. State and N. Main streets, adjacent to the Health & Wellness Expo, which will be held nearby at the Village Center.

Local businesses and hospitals will promote healthy lifestyle choices with their booths at the expo.

The 600-meter Kids' Fun Run will start at 7:55 a.m., after a lineup time of 7:45 a.m.

The Fun Run is for children ages 2 to 8, and lasts several minutes.
