Chinese Adoptees Documentary, Discussion Aug. 21

Families Caring for Children Inc., in partnership with Families with Children from China-Lehigh Valley chapter, will sponsor a showing of the documentary "Somewhere Between" on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Weslyn United Methodist Church in Bethlehem.

A viewing of the documentary will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the church center, 2540 Center St., Bethlehem. A discussion facilitated by Jean Barney, of Families Caring for Children, will follow.

The documentary profiles four teenagers who were adopted from China at a young age and who grew up in the United States. The teens attempt to answer the question: Who Am I?, according to the documentary's website. The documentary illustrates that specific experiences can be universal.

Some  80,000 girls have been adopted from China since 1989, following China's implementation of its One Child Policy.

To register for the viewing/discussion and for more information, contact Families Caring for Children at 570-735-9082 or at ccibarb@aol.com

The screening is only for adults. Babysitting will be provided.
