NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
From Upper Saucon Township:
Upper Saucon Township will receive sealed proposals for the Saucon Rail Trail - Phase 2, Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Proposals will be received by the undersigned until 3:00 PM (Prevailing Time), Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Upper Saucon Township Municipal Building, 5500 Camp Meeting Road, Center Valley, PA 18034, Attn: Mr. Thomas F. Beil. Proposals will be opened publicly and read aloud thereafter on the same day. The principal items of work include but are not limited to: Construction of a stone recreation trail along the existing abandoned SEPTA railroad bed from the Upper Saucon Township Community Park to East Landis Street near the Borough of Coopersburg boundary line, including construction of two transition entrances, paved transition areas, gates, fencing, pavement markings, etc.
One complete set of Bidding Documents may be obtained at the office of The Pidcock Company, 2451 Parkwood Drive, Allentown, PA 18103 at a deposit sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100). Any Bidder, upon returning such set in good condition within ten days after the opening of the Proposals, will be refunded 100 percent of its deposit. Additional sets may be obtained by a bidder at a cost of One Hundred Dollars ($100) per set which amount is not refundable.
Each Bidder shall deposit with its Proposal a certified check, bank money order or Bid bond in the amount of not less than ten percent of the Total Bid as defined in the Instructions to Bidders.
Proposals shall be submitted in triplicate on the prescribed forms provided and in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The transmission of a proposal by facsimile or electronically is expressly prohibited.
The minimum wages paid for all labor employed on this project shall be as established by the Secretary of Labor, Department of Labor and Industry, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and as tabulated in the Project Manual.
Bidding requirements are more particularly described in the Instructions to Bidders contained in the Project Manual.

i can sit on my deck and hear and see the motorcycles and atvs flying down the rail trail. i see kids smashing glass against my trees...it used to be peaceful here, but thanks to the rail trail, my property has also become a public restroom. i miss the trains....

sophie's mom, I think you are making things up. If the things you mention are happening get some pictures, then send them to the police and Upper Saucon Township, Lower Saucon and/or Hellertown managers. I walk the trail all the time although have never seen evidence of the things you mention.

really?? you walk the trail, of course you aren't seeing these things. i live next to the trail. by the time i get the camera, the motorcycles are gone and the kids run. don't think i want to take a picture of someone urinating...you really think that's appropriate (even though it's disrespectful to me) to take a photo of someones $%#@ hanging out???? what do you think the police could do?
