If you enjoy baking, then the next five days are for you.
Summer's second heat wave arrives today with temperatures expected to hit 90.
But that's just the beginning, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures through Monday are going to be heating up, making for a heat wave of at least five days. A heat wave constitutes temperatures of 90 degrees or above for at least three days.
For Friday through Sunday, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 94 degrees before returning to 90 degrees Monday.
If you must be out in the heat, here are some tips from the Centers for Disease Control:
Limit your outdoor activity to morning and evening hours.
- Cut down on exercise.
- Try to rest often in shady areas.
- Protect yourself from the sun by wearing a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses and by putting on sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher.
