Quakertown Man Charged with Allegedly Concealing Loaded Firearm
Kevin Covaleski, 47, and Kyle Sterling, 58, were reportedly having sex inside a car behind Holiday Inn in Towamencin. Police said a loaded .22-caliber handgun was found in the console of the vehicle
Two men allegedly found by police engaged in sexual activity in a car in the rear parking lot of Holiday Inn in Towamencin resulted in one of them being arrested and charged for carrying a concealed weapon without a license.
Kevin Covaleski, 47, of the unit block of S. 11th Street, Quakertown, was taken into custody by Towamencin Police around 11:30 a.m. Jan. 24 and charged with firearms not to be carried without a license and disorderly conduct, police said.
Covaleski was arraigned by District Judge Harold Borek and released on $5,000 unsecured bail, police said.
Police investigated a suspicious occupied vehicle in the rear parking lot of the hotel at 1750 Sumneytown Pike, and found the occupants engaged in sexual activity, police said.
Covaleski allegedly ad a loaded .22-caliber handgun in his possession, located in the console of the vehicle, police said. Covaleski does not have a permit to possess a concealed firearm, police said.
The other occupant, Kyle Sterling, 58, of the 1200 block of Allenhurst Avenue, Ocean, NJ, was cited for disorderly conduct and released, police said.

Why did they have to use their names and addresses? Is that reality necessary? The gun is the real issu not making out in the car Hope everyone knew their preference because they all know know.

They were 'engaged in sexual activity. That's much more than making out. The issue is engaging in sexual activity in a public place and the gun. If they didn't want their names released they shouldn't be engaging in illegal activity.

I don't understand folks who think they can run around with loaded guns without encountering issues..

Get your facts straight people. You are allowed to carry, in plain view, a weapon. Once you conceal it you need a permit. The real issue here isnt the gun but the fact that these two guys were having sex in a parking lot of a hotel.

Val, you need a license to carry whether its open or concealed in the state of PA. If you don't have a license you must have the gun in a different part of the car then the bullets. Ie, one in the glove compartment and the other in a trunk. The gun cannot be loaded. PA license is both a open and concealed license

Two old men, Kevin and Kyle, having 'sex' in a car. Pity the poor police officer who had to witness that.

Unless there had been a complaint, I wonder why the cops even bothered to check the car out.

Mofrog , I believe Val is correct . Pa is an open carry state and you can legally strap a loaded firearm on your hip and walk around with it in plain view . The issue of a permit comes into play when you conceal a loaded firearm . As a concealed firearm permit holder this is how I have interpreted the regulations . If you have information otherwise please tell us where to reference it . Thanks
