Police Warn: Scam Artist/Burglar Team Loose in Solehi

Southern Lehigh couple are most recent victims of a diversion burglary.

Upper Saucon police are warning all Southern Lehigh and Upper Bucks residents to be aware of scam artists who are currently going door to door in the area using a tactic called "diversion burglary."

News of the scam broke Thursday afternoon.

Police responded to a call around 5pm Wednesday on Jacoby Road. When they arrived, officers learned that a couple were approached in thier home by a man claiming to "be doing some tree work" at a nearby neighbors' home. 

While the couple were out back looking at potential "work," another person entered the home, removing valuables.

The man who approched the couple is described as a white male in his early 40s to 50s with a ruddy complexion, approximately 5-feet-10. The individuals were driving a light-colored, two-door pickup truck with a diamond-plated toolbox in the truck bed. Police say the scam artists could be attempting this technique throughout the region and urge residents to alert friends, family and neighbors. 

Police are asking that anyone with information about these individuals, or if you or a neighbor have been solicited, to please call the Upper Saucon Police Department at 610-282-3064.
