Nazareth Woman Behind Wheel of Fatal One-Car Crash at Bus Stop

Two pedestrians were killed when Caitlyn Clark, 26, of Nazareth lost control of her SUV Monday afternoon and crashed into a LANTA bus stop in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.

A Nazareth woman was behind the wheel of a sport-utility vehicle that careened into a bus stop -- killing two pedestrians -- in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Angel Bosch, 28, of Easton, died at a hospital after the 3:26 p.m. crash near the Lehigh Valley International Airport, according to a report in The Express-Times. Elias Tabarani, 51, of Allentown, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Caitlyn Clark, 26, of Nazareth, was traveling east on Race Street when, for unknown reasons, she lost control of her 1996 Nissan Pathfinder.

As Clark approached the Cascade Drive intersection, according to police, she drove onto a grassy area, struck a utility pole and, lastly, hit four men waiting at a LANTA bus stop.

Two of the men, including Tabarani, were trapped under the vehicle, police said.

Angel Guerrido-Lopez, 38, and Lawrence Oyster, 37, both of Allentown, were transported to area hospitals for treatment, as was Clark.

According to court records, Clark was cited for speeding in Alburtis on May 8. The case is "inactive" because she did not submit a plea.

Anyone who witnessed the crash and has yet to be interviewed is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police at (610) 861-2026.

Oh great sage, when are you going to take out an add in the Morning Rag telling all us 'stupid wimmin' where we can send our licenses to you, oh omnipotent judge and jury, as we, being wimmin, are entirely 'too stupid' to know how to drive. I guess we should just get our barefoot and pregnant selves back in the kitchen or the bedroom, right? It's not like we're superior beings, like MEN, right? If she is an ass behind the wheel, she needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and like all asses, men as well as women have them......she may be the female version, but by your remarks, you are putting yourself in the running for the male version.

Stop and say a prayer for those who lost their lives and for those who are left behind; also that those responsible will be punished and not with just a slap on the wrist. Yes, I have to agree with the others here...I will bet you lunch texting and or on the cell phone was behind it. Legislators and judges really do not get "it". We all need to stand up and literally start screaming at our State reps, put the pressure on those who can make a difference. Only then, might you start to see some changes. There will always be stupid people doing stupid things. My plea to those stupid people: Stay away from those I love and care about, please!

You people make me sick. People are dead and its somehow funny... And we need more laws. Its called an accident for a reason and unless you were in the passenger seat don't assume you know how this happened

Her cell phone killed them, just as dead as if she used a gun. She first was reported to say she was on her phone and a check of her phone records, wil soon confirm it. I hope they put her sorry ass away for no less than 20 years.

Too bad you can't call Clark an idiot, I'm sure she would much prefer that, instead of being called a Murderer! I wish I had the authority to sentence these Murderous Idiots.

Wow how sad! People tragically lost their lives , and people on here are already condenming the woman. If the woman was on the phone she will be punished hopefully for a very long time. But for people to write on here that she is a murderer without knowing what happened. It just shows your ignorance. Unless you were there maybe all you should be doing is offering your prayers and thoughts to the families.

The only comment I see so far is from the Lehigh Valley Cop. We have laws ,the cops can't be everywhere!!! We shouldn't make any assumptions ,but I have traveled on race st. many times and there is nowhere I know of that anyone should be going as fast as she was to do that. Lets pray for those that are injured and passed away and the loved ones left behind.

i feel for everyone involved, its a tragic situation, but just beacuse you lost someone you love before their time doesnt give you the right to make assumptions about someone you dont even know especially if you werent a witness to the ACCIDENT but i know the driver personally. from what i was understand had happened was she was attempting to avoid crashing into a vehicle in front of her that had suddenly slammed on their brakes. i dont know if anyone knows that road but i know if you go off the shoulder the road kinda grabs your tire and with that grassy hill where that bus stop happens to be located in a ditch and she happened to have to go off the road to avoid an accident, she lost control. her and her family are genuinely good people and she is going through alot right now too having to cope with the fact that she took the lives of 2 innocent people. im not saying that what shes going through is worse than what the loved ones of all of the victims are going through but people need to think logically. she is not a heartless person. she has a huge heart and a conscience. all im saying is accidents do happen and theres nothing anyone can do to change that and i can guarantee if there was ANYTHING she could have done to avoid this tragic accident she would have.

and as far as the "woman drivers" comment.. you're an ignorant judgemental asshole.. let me just say that out of everyone i know (which are mostly MEN) i am the one with no at-fault accidents.. all of the men have at-fault accidents. i have 2 accidents, no tickets, nothing!!! and accident #1 was due to black ice and accident #2 a MAN ran a red light and hit me.. so maybe you should think before you open your mouth. i feel sorry for the people that have to admit they know you.

Did u read everything I said? Never said it was fact.. I said "from what I understand" and how is that even the point of this whole thing? Wow. Gotta love it when people focus on the smallest parts of things and not the actual point. My point, since I guess I have to spell it out for everyone, attempt to put yourself in her shoes bc believe me that's what she's trying to do and is beating herself up daily about this entire situation. U lose control of your vehicle, for whatever reason, and kill 2 innocent people. That's on ur conscience for life. And all she thinks about is the victims and their families and how much they must be hurting. So I guess let's just focus on whether there was a car she was avoiding or not instead of all these judgmental people that think this type of thing could never happen to them

Being one of "them," why could this happen to me? I'll tell you three types of "things," that's not going to happen to me, to cause me to crash my car. Drinking, Drugs and Texting! The police report should shortly explain, what exactly happened.

Wow.. ur ignorant.. I have been in 2 accidents.. none of which involved drinking, drugs or texting.. the first was was caused by loss of control of my vehicle. I was lucky enough to be the only injured party involved but it could have happened. You are an awesome example of what is wrong with this country.

An example to prove what? That tire blowouts can also cause accidents, that potholes can also cause accidents, etc., etc., etc. What an airhead you are! The question was and still is, what caused Clark to lose control on a straightaway?

An example to prove that what u said about alcohol, texting and drugs is bs.. an airhead? Arrogant. I don't even know why I keep responding to you.. I'm the airhead and u can't even keep up w/ a simple conversation. I really don't have time or patience for people like you anymore. Can't stand people that assume and jump to conclusions bc their dense simple minds can't grasp the simple concept of accident and malfunction and are stuck on it has to be texting or under the influence. Did u hear about the guy that flipped his car on main st. In bath in front of tattletales? That's a straight, flat road. Things do happen.. and with that I'm done. I hope, for your sake, one day you can learn to be less ignorant.

What's BS about my saying, l'm not going to have any accidents due to Drinking, Drugs and Texting and this is proof of your example? Your train of thought flip flops, like a fish out of water! Like I originally said, the police report should shortly say what exactly happened. No one said cars don't crash on straightaways, the question is, why did her's. Maybe it's like you said, something grabbed at her tires? It's too damn easy to get a Driver's License!

If I was in your shoes and her shoes, harsh judgement would be the least of my worries.
Also all these prayers do nothing. I do have a hope for the victims, that she was on her parents insurance, no doubt there pockets are a lot deeper than hers.

tinatorres - Frankly, I can't believe JeffGreen was able to make any sense of what you wrote. Many of the people who read and write on Patch are old school and write like I am writing now. We capitalize the word at the beginning of each sentence. We put a period at the end of each sentence. We don't use abbreviations like 2u, ur, etc., because in the real world, if you write that way, unless you're on some young teen web site, people just aren't going to take you seriously, especially if it's laced with profanity.
