In front of Coopersburg Majesterial District Justice David Harding and next door to the Coopersburg Borough building, former borough manager Dawn Kresge waived her preliminary hearing on charges that she stole almost $15,000 from the borough. 

Kresge is charged with access device fraud, theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property for allegedly using borough credit cards to pay personal expenses. 

Kresge resigned abruptly as borough manager in February, citing a new job opportunity. The resignation sparked an internal audit of the deparment. In April, new borough manager (and former mayor) Tim Paashaus uncovered "unlawful use of the borough credit card."

According to a press release from District Attorney Jim Martin's office, Coopersburg Police Chief Daniel Trexler requested the investigtion.

The audit found improper charges dating from November 2010 to February 2012. The charges totaled $14,980.65.

Kresge was interviewed at the district attorney's office, where she waived her Miranda rights and admitted to using the card unlawfully. 

The three charges are all third-degree felonies. Kresge is out on $15,000 unsecured bail.
