Dedication of Liberati Intermediate School Postponed
Southern Lehigh officials will reschedule the name change dedication of the intermediate school because of Hurricane Sandy.

"Words cannot properly express the sorrow that is being felt by everyone in the district at this time. Joe has been a trusted colleague and friend for the past 22 years. He was fully dedicated to the students of the district, and a tireless advocate for his administrative staff and teachers. Joe's enthusiasm was infectious, and it helped to take the entire organization to a new level. He understood that a superintendent in the 21st century must be just as concerned about the financial aspects of the district as the academic aspects. Due to the power outages, the dedication and ribbon-cutting for the name change of the Intermediate School in honor of former superintendent Joseph P. Liberati for Friday, Nov. 2 has been postponed, according to the Southern Lehigh website.
School officials will make an announcement as soon as the event is rescheduled.
