Italiano Delite is a family owned and operated restaurant offering eat-in dining, take-out and delivery from its Macungie location on Brookside Road near Lower Macungie Road. The family also runs a second location by the same name just about three miles away, at 1375 Chestnut St., Emmaus. (If you are arranging to meet friends at Italiano Delite, be specific!)

For casual bites, pizza is offered by the slice or whole pie, in regular or Sicilian style, with a choice of all the usual toppings. There are more than 20 gourmet pizzas on the menu with more upscale flavor combinations, including Alle Vongole (clams, garlic, parsley, mozzarella, sauce) and Quattro Stagione (mozzarella, ham, artichoke, mushroom and black olive).

Beyond pizza, still on the casual side, patrons can choose from a large list of hot sandwiches, cold hoagies, wraps, stromboli and rolls, such as spinach roll, broccoli roll, sausage roll or pepperoni roll, each for $5.95.

The restaurant also serves full dinners, with pastas of all sorts as the principal entrees. Tortellini carbonara, stuffed shells, baked ziti, primavera lasagna and eggplant rollatine are just a few of the pasta choices, all for around $10.95-$15.95. Veal dishes, prepared half a dozen different ways, and served with spaghetti or linguine, are $17.95.

Italiano Delite now features new patio seating at its Macungie location. The festive outdoor dining area, replete with colorful umbrellas, is worth considering when temperatures dip back down into double digits…
